We can’t say enough about how much we love Breezie and Jake and their eclectic-hippy-vintage-earthy-chic style. It was a whirlwind experience planning their wedding in a month – that’s right, just one month – especially since the both of them spent a majority of the time away in Oregon preparing for their big move after the wedding. Much thanks to Linda, Breezie’s mom, who managed to stay calm through the entire process and assisted us with all the final decisions and details of what Breezie would ultimately love for her special day!
Breezie and Jake’s vintage-eclectic style is a style completely their own. And they didn’t just doll it up for their wedding theme. It’s really who they are as individuals, and as a couple, and I love that it was reflected so well throughout their entire wedding. Breezie and Jake were set on making sure their bridal party fit their roles perfectly. Breezie’s sister, Tawni, sewed all of the bridesmaid’s yellow dresses, which were accompanied by accessories in various shades of brown. To top it all off, and complete the look, of course, Breezie took her bridesmaids to a vintage hat shop in Salt Lake City where they all picked out their own vintage toppers! How cute is that?
The groomsman wore all sorts of different things which really brought together the eclectic-vintage look. From the suspenders, to the neckties, to the vests, and especially Jake’s hat, they were the perfect companions to their female counterparts.
The ceremony decor was simple and understated. Mason jars filled with pillowy, Queen Anne’s Lace flowers and wide, vintage lace lined both sides of the aisle. Vintage fruit crates stacked on top of each other flanked the ceremony archway and served as the base for two beautiful wild flower and yellow tulip arrangements by Just Because Flowers. The archway was decorated beautifully with a spray of wild flowers and more yellow tulips.
After the ceremony, family and friends were invited to an intimate dinner reception with the newlyweds. The setting was a beautiful and light summer, garden setting. Vintage lace banners were hung from above and billowed in the breeze while guests dined. The tables were covered in ivory linens and white, vintage lace overlays, with old-fashioned sparkling lemonade, a green and white vintage paper straw, and a freshly-picked yellow daisy tied with twine presented at each place setting. DIY vintage inspired lace napkins with a soft, butter yellow stitching and baby food jars filled with lemon drops and topped with vintage floral fabric also accompanied each place setting.
The dessert reception featured an amazing buffet of homemade pies, old fashioned cakes and mini delectables, a shortcake station with mixed berries and whipped cream, and an old-fashioned sundae bar with ALL the toppings! Guests were also treated to old-fashioned raspberry and peach lemonade. Now you can’t beat that!
