July 2010 | Kualoa Ranch, O’ahu, HI
Shawna’s vision for her perfect wedding was a style that was slightly vintage and eclectic, yet very simple. The ceremony site was decorated simply with wicker baskets overflowing with flowers and hung along the aisle. The chuppah, which the couple were married under, was constructed of beautiful bamboo, and delicately hung blossoms of green and white orchids and crystal jewels. With a backdrop as stunning as the Pacific Ocean, everything was very simple and not overcomplicated.
The reception took place under a white tent set on the lawn of the estate. We incorporated a variety of floral centerpieces for her seating tables, including white orchids in vintage green pots, hydrangea blossoms in teapots, topiaries on wire candle stands, and a variety of other fun and eclectic vessels. A candle lit staircase and a vignette of florals invited guests to the buffet area which was located on a terrace just above the reception tent. Handmade burlap sacks filled with delicious Macadamia nut-chocolate chip cookies was placed at each place setting and was the perfect thank you treat from the bride and groom to their guests.
